Gerry, unfortunately the only solution is probably to buy a quieter fan for the computer (or complain to the manufacturer about how noisy it is). Larger fans tend to move more air per revolution and thus can run more slowly. This makes them quieter. So it may be possible to replace the noisy (and presumably small) fan on your new computer with a larger and quieter one.
