screensaver currently suspended

Some thoughts on this:

Do you have "do work while computer is in use" set in your preferences? If not it might be that the screensaver jumps up before the idle period BOINC waits for is over, so for this time BOINC stays "suspended".

Do you happen to have a second screen? With some BOINC clients the secondary screen showed a "suspended" message (the screensaver graphics is only visible on the primary screen).

BOINC also suspends computation for a some time when running the benchmark. If the BOINC Manager is not normally running, so the client gets started from the screensaver after some time of inactivity, the first thing it does is probably running the benchmark.
