You should not be trying to run einstein_4.78_powerpc-apple-darwin'by hand'. I suggest that you install Recommended version (standard GUI) of BOINC, currently at version 4.43. You may also want to follow the instructions here to try the faster version of Einstein with a screensaver: test app.
