Quote:I got it from the binaries/apps directory. The executables are the same as those in the download directory.Ahhh..... OK.
I would strongly advise against grabbing stuff from there as a lot of it seems to be "work in progress" that is being internally tested and therefore liable to cause havoc if a "not ready for release" version gets out into the wild. Just look at some of the comments against some of the packages and you will get the impression that the sensible thing to do is back right out of there :-).
I may be wrong but it appears to me that "ready for use" versions get put into the download directory and are therefore much more likely to be safe to use.
I wanted to confirm that you are correct. There are executable versions which go into the CVS archive but which then fail our internal testing and hence are never released. This will not happen (or is much less likely!) if you take executables from the Einstein@Home download server download/ directory.

Apparently 11 workunits of S5R2 got stuck in the system (i.e. had no canonical result but also no results unsent or in progress), possibly due to a scheduler or validator crash. I've watched this for a while, but I did't find the time to really look into that until a few days before S5R4.
