Yes. Bruce shut down the validator for the time being to help with our testing of the new server.
We should be running E@h off the new server really soon.

Is the validator down?

The validator is now back up and running well. As David said, I shut it down because I wanted to accumulate a couple of days of results so that I could test it on a good-sized amount of work. We did find and fix a couple of bugs that were marking some valid results as being invald.

One difference you will now notice is that with our upgraded BOINC server-side software, results will 'stick around' for a week before they are purged from the database. So valid (and invalid) results will now be available 'for your viewing pleasure' for a week after the work unit is completed.

Yes. The validator has been shut down because a bug was found that caused some correct results to be marked as invalid when they were correct. As I understand the bug has been fixed and the new validator will be put in place soon.

In the bigger picture we a getting close to doing another major upgrade that will take us one step closer to our public release.

With the migration to the new

With the migration to the new scheduler and the bug in the validator aparently we lost quite a number of (pending) credits which we couldn't revive. Sorry folks, but this is alpha test.

(1) When I shifted to using the new scheduler yesterday and cancelled some existing workunits/results, I gave credit whenever possible to sucessful results.

(2) Just to repeat it again: unless something goes badly wrong (eg, I make a mistake) our test users will keep their credits when we go public.

Cheers,
Bruce
