Im just curious if anyone is planning or currently trying to make a optimized app for the latest version?
No clue what you mean.
The App for Mac OS X Intel is the fastest App we have, it's using SSE2 instructions without even the need to detect the CPU type.
The 6.10 Windows App, if you refer to this, is an attempt to bring the Windows Apps up to speed with the Linux and Mac OS X Intel Apps and fix a few problems that are specific to the Windows OS.

Mac 6.01 optimized client?

Nothing specific to PPC.
I think the current code base is pretty much at its limits. We could make another round of compiler testing, tweaking, clock cycle profiling, and may get something like 10-15% on a particular CPU, that's all. Nothing realy dramatic, and nothing that would bring the old PPC of Macs up to par for modern Core2 CPUs.
Currently we get about 1% of all results from Mac OS X PPC systems. This architecture is getting out of fashion, and I'm not sure how much time it is worth to put in in the future.
I will continue to build PPC Apps and support this as an official platform of the project, but as from e.g. general code improvements modern CPUs will usually benefit more than older ones, my guess is that with time the contribution of PPC will fade away.
