Validate Errors

'validate error' means that there was a problem on the server when the validator tried to perform a validation on the 2 members of the quorum. It is possible for this error to be caused by the files not being available on the server in the expected location when the validator tried to do the validation. Check out the explanatory link under the 'outcome' heading.

In general a validate error (at least on Einstein@home) is everything where it doesn't make sense to compare the result to other results. The result file may be not there or not accessible to the validator, broken (can't be unzipped properly), contain non-ASCII characters, anything else than numbers (NaNs, INFs), or any other type of syntactic error. A 'validate error' just prevents the server (validator) from looking at the file again, which means that the validate state 'invalid' of 'validate error' results is final (until manual intervention).

I'll see if I cand find the time to grep the validator logs for the tasks in question.

If you could check the units in question, that would be great. Then I would know why they are invalid. If it was just a server hiccup I'll reattach. If it is a problem with running the project on that particular card, then there's not much point to reattaching.

I assume you are referring to computer #2273870. I haven't looked at all tasks, but in the ones I've seen all result lines look like this:

The good news is that you have infinite power, the bad news is that you shouldn't have.

This isn't a server problem, the files are perfectly intact.
